Visions of the Future for Preston Bus Station
Five different visions for the future of Preston Bus Station are to be unveiled in the city next week.
The final five have been selected by a panel of judges from nearly 100 submitted in an international design competition to transform the decaying Grade II Listed building and its concourse in undergoing a £23m makeover.
Council leader Coun Jennifer Mein says “I think we will end up with a truly remarkable building at the end of it all ”
The public will be allowed to have a say in which of the five finalists is chosen. Almost 300 international architects registered to submit entries, 93 eventually put in their designs.
“I am confident we have picked five interesting and varied options, ” said Coun Matthew Tomlinson, a member of the selection panel.
